New Student Registration For 2020-2021

New COVID 19 REGISTRATION Procedures

As a result of the COVID-19 and its impact on our school communities, it is imperative that we continue to implement social distancing within our schools and offices. The following provides protocols for student enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year:

Protocols
  • Parent/Guardian will complete registration online at nlmusd.org.
  • Parent/Guardian will submit the following necessary documents by mail, email, drop-off or fax to complete the enrollment: birth certificate, proof of residence, immunization records and transcripts.
  •  Documents will be processed at the school site.
  •  Site will contact parent/guardian upon completion of the enrollment process and provide next steps for students, including their right for Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).
  •  After completed enrollment, site will contact parent for device distribution for students in grades 3rd- 12th
  • New intra-district transfers will not be processed until further notice.

May 1, 2020

· New and Returning Pre-K, TK, and Kinder Registration will open

 

May 23, 2020

· All New and Returning Student Registration will open for  all grade levels (Pre-K-12)

 

Please use the below links for students brand new to the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District. Their enrollment begins by registering online. Parents can register online for their child’s zoned school of residence or an approved intra-district permit location.

WHAT YOU NEED TO REGISTER

  • All new and returning students require a PowerSchool Registration account. Don’t have one? Click here to create an account. 
  • All new NLMUSD students may register for a Powerschool Registration account for their school of residence. Find your assigned school here. 
  • New students and returning NLMUSD students who change home address must provide approved proof of residence. Additional information is required for shared residency. Click here for forms and information.
  • Students must be up to date on required immunizations, dental screening, and physicals or have an approved exemption on file to attend school. See requirements here
